Creating A Transformative Learning Experience

Center for Human Development has delivered cutting-edge curricula and training programs for over 35 years. Interactive workshops for students, teachers, parents, businesses and community groups are designed to provide the most effective, dynamic and transforming learning experience possible.

We customize training programs to meet the specific needs of your school or organization. Fees are very affordable and vary based on the type and length of training, and the number of participants.

Our experienced staff members facilitate training on a wide variety of topics. Take a look at the list below to learn what we can do for you.

Tribes Training
Tribes is a highly interactive group process model with activities intentionally designed to build self-esteem, promote responsible behavior and improve academic achievement. The process is applicable to groups of all ages in a wide variety of settings - including schools, scouts, after-school/recreational programs, and alcohol and other drug abuse prevention programs.

Icebreakers, Energizers, and Fun Games
Learn interactive and fun activities that help groups of children, youth and adults feel more comfortable, trusting, and familiar with each other. The training can be age-specific or cross-generational.

Youth-Adult Partnerships
Learn to improve the effectiveness of youth programs and increase youth involvement. This training allows a space for youth and adults to talk about the ways that adults view young people and strategies that everyone can use to improve relationships.

"Every 15 Minutes" Student Retreat
To ensure the success of the popular Every 15 Minutes teen drinking and driving program, this student retreat provides a safe space for young people to process their experience. In the Facilitators Training, participants learn effective and easy ways to guide youth through the inclusion stage of group development.

Parent Nights
Parent Night speakers offer an interactive look at alcohol abuse prevention. Information is provided regarding underage drinking in local communities. Parents leave empowered with new ideas for how to help with underage drinking prevention efforts.

Parent Educator Program
The 21-hour training focuses on tobacco, alcohol and other drug facts; communication skills; group development; effective teaching strategies; and classroom management. Experientially based sessions are facilitated in the same process that our Parent Educator Program volunteers use with students in grades K-6.

Youth Educator Training
Parents, teachers, counselors or community members are trained in a process that enables them to recruit, train, and guide high school Youth Educators. Youth Educators learn and teach basic drug information, identification of pro-drug influences, healthy decision making as well as ways to enhance self-esteem and cope with stress.

Community Mediation
This 30-hour training follows California Dispute Resolution Program Act-approved curriculum. Participants learn the structure, design and practice of dispute resolution and its use as a problem-solving technique. Trainees gain skills in problem identification and disagreement management, plus useful strategies for achieving agreement. Learn more.
