MISSION Project SUCCESS utilizes support groups and mentoring efforts to educate youth about alcohol and drugs and enable them to make positive decisions regarding their own health and safety. |
|
WHAT IS PROJECT SUCCESS? Project SUCCESS (Schools Using Coordinated Community Efforts to Strengthen Students) is an evidence-based alcohol and other drugs prevention program designed for youth. Project SUCCESS consists of 6 to 8 week prevention education groups; 8 to 12 week process groups for students facing similar issues; and individual assessment and mentoring. Each prevention specialist is at a school site for two full days each week, becoming an integral part of the school community. |
|
WHAT IS AN "EVIDENCE-BASED" PROGRAM? An "evidence-based"
program or "best-practice model" program is one which has been
tested in communities, schools, social service organizations, and workplaces
across America, and have provided solid proof that they have prevented
or reduced substance abuse and other related high-risk behaviors. |
