GUARDIANSHIP MEDIATION
|
The Probate Commissioner refers cases to mediation. Shortly thereafter, the parties are notified by mail regarding a date and time for mediation. When they arrive for mediation, they will be greeted by two mediators who will assist all parties in discussing and resolving the situation. Everyone involved will be encouraged to participate in the resolution process. There is a time limit of three hours per mediation session. If more time is needed, a disputant may request a second mediation by contacting the CRP office. When a resolution is reached a written document is drawn up for all parties to sign, including any attorneys in the case. This document will then be presented to the Court for review and approval at the next scheduled court hearing. |
