MISSION

The Empowerment Program serves lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and their straight allies. Using a youth development model, the program offers support groups, outreach to high school gay/straight alliances, HIV prevention education, and advocacy for safe schools. Our support group, PLATYPUS (People Learning About Their Youthful Peers and Understanding Sexuality), is located in Anticoch. The group is a joint effort with Concord's Rainbow Community Center. Funding for the Empowerment Program comes from the Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund.
